La Rêverie, a vintage coffee house where coffee is unhurried

A vintage coffee house

The morning is in no hurry.

La Rêverie. A cup worth lingering over, ground by hand and poured warm.

The idea

Stay a while.

La Rêverie is a small coffee house built around one idea. That a cup of coffee is not a thing to finish. It is a reason to slow down.

We grind by hand. We pull each shot with care. We would rather you stayed ten minutes longer than left in a rush. The world can wait. Your coffee is warm, the chair is soft, and the morning, for once, belongs to you.

How it is made

Made slowly, on purpose.

01 · Grind

We grind by hand

Whole beans, roasted in small batches, ground the moment you order and never before. The smell alone is worth the short wait.

02 · Press

We press with care

Each shot is measured, tamped, and pulled by hand. No shortcuts, no autopilot. That extra minute is the whole point.

03 · Pour

We pour it warm

From a brass machine older than most of us, into porcelain that has heard a thousand quiet conversations. Then it is yours.

The ritual

You cannot rush a good pour.

So try. Press and hold, and let it fill in its own time. That patience, right there, is the whole idea.

Press and hold

There. Now it is yours. This is La Rêverie. Come and taste it slowly, in person.

The room

A corner that keeps you.

Warm light. Old wood. Music low enough to talk over. Take the table by the window, or the deep chair in the back that everyone quietly fights for.

Stay for one cup, or for the whole afternoon. Nobody here is counting.

In their words

The regulars said it better.

I came in to escape the rain and stayed three hours. Nobody once made me feel like I should leave.

Émilie, every Tuesday

They know my order and, somehow, my week. It is the only ten minutes of my morning that are truly mine.

Thomas, before the 8:15 train

I do not know much about coffee. Here, that has never once been a problem.

Before you come

The honest answers.

Is it expensive?

No. A good cup should not cost the earth. Our prices are all on the menu above, every one of them, with nothing hidden and no pressure to add more.

Can I work or read here for a while?

Please do. There are quiet corners, warm light, and enough plugs to go around. Stay as long as you like. That is rather the point of the place.

I do not really know coffee. Is that alright?

More than alright. Tell us how you like it, or let us surprise you. There are no wrong answers here, and never a raised eyebrow.

Do you take reservations?

For a table, yes, using the form just below. For a quick coffee at the counter, simply walk in. You are always welcome, booked or not.

Save a table for your daydream.

Tell us when, and we will keep a corner warm.

La Rêverie is a design concept, so this form does not send anything.

Your table is saved in the daydream.

In real life, La Rêverie is a fictional café, so there is no corner to keep warm and no coffee to pour. Thank you all the same for imagining it with us. Now go and find a slow cup somewhere real.
